Our Story
Local Joe Coffee Roasters is a black owned roasting company that was founded in Honolulu Hawaii in 2015 by Charles Asselbaye, a Peet’s coffee trained roastmaster who was born in France, raised in Central Africa, and educated in the United States.
Our mission is to equitably source exceptional coffees, roast them to perfection and positively contribute to our island community and the well being of the environment. We are firmly committed to social justice.
Our life’s work is to have you say: These guys source, roast, blend and brew delicious coffee. And I’d like to have them around. We are in the process of building a place where friends are in great supply.
We work hard to reduce our carbon footprint in order to protect our oceans and are firmly committed to social justice. We seek to serve and share a cuppa Joe moment with you.
